In recent years, the level of stamping die in our country has been greatly improved. Large stamping dies can produce molds with a single set weight of more than 50 tons. Covering parts molds for medium-grade cars can also be produced domestically. Multi-station progressive molds with a precision of 1~2um and a life of about 200 million times can be produced by many enterprises in China. Stamping dies with a surface roughness of Ras1.5um, large size (Ф≥300mm) and medium-thick plate stamping dies have also reached a very high level in China.
The development of mold CAD/CAM technology in our country has a history of more than 20 years. The mold CAD/CAM system developed by the former Huazhong Institute of Technology and Wuhan Factory 733 in 1984 was the first one independently developed in China. The cold heading mold CAD/CAM system developed by Huazhong Institute of Technology and BeijingMold Factory in 1986 was the first one independently developed in China. The cold heading mold CAD/CAM system developed by Shanghai Jiaotong University was also completed in the same year. Since the 1990s, CAD/CAM technology has been used in the design and manufacturing of molds in the domestic automotive industry. The 863 program of the State Science and Technology Commission took Dongfeng Motor Company as the application demonstration factory of CIMS, and the car body and cover mold CAD/CAPP/CAM integrated system developed by Huazhong University of Science and Technology was appraised at the beginning of 1996. During this period, the first and Chengfei Automobile Mold Center introduced workstations and CADICAM software systems, and actually applied them in the design and manufacturing of molds, achieving remarkable benefits. In 1997, the first introduced sheet metal forming process computer simulation CAE software and began to be used in production.
At the beginning of the 21st century, CAD/CAM technology gradually became popular, and now most stamping mold enterprises with a certain production capacity have CAD/CAM technology. Some of the key enterprises also have various CAE capabilities.
Die CAD/CAM technology can significantly shorten the cycle of mold design and manufacturing, reduce production costs, improve product quality, and has become a consensus. During the "85" and "95" periods, a large number of mold enterprises have popularized the computer drawing technology, the utilization rate of CNC machining is getting higher and higher, and a number of CAD/CAM systems have been introduced successively. For example, UG of American EDS, Pro/Engineer of American Parametric Technology Company, CADS5 of American CV Company, DOCT5 of British DELCAM Company, CRADE and SDaCe-E of Japanese HZS Company, Cimatrn of Israeli Company, and also introduced AUOCAD.CATA and other software and France Marta.Daravision Company's Eucid-1S and other special software for automotive and body mold. Domestic car body mold production enterprises have generally adopted CAD/CAM technology. The design of DL图 and the design of mold structure图 have been realized by two-dimensional CAD, most enterprises have transitioned to three-dimensional, and the general production is gradually replacing the part drawing production. And the parameterized design of molds has also begun to go to the field of technology development of a few mold manufacturers.
In terms of sheet metal forming CAE software, in addition to the introduced software, universities such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jilin University, Hunan University, etc., have developed software with independent intellectual property rights and a high level of self-developed, which have been successfully applied in production practice and have produced good benefits.
The combination of rapid prototyping (RP) and traditional rapid economic mold, the rapid manufacturing of large car body cover mold, solves the original low-melting alloy mold depending on the casting of the sample to cast the mold, the mold accuracy is low, the part accuracy is low, and the sample making is difficult, etc., to achieve the rapid mold manufacturing with three-dimensional CAD model as the basis of the mold, and to ensure the accuracy of the parts, it provides a guarantee for the development of new car models and the rapid trial production of the car body, which marks the successful application of RPM in the trial production mold of large car body cover.
Around the rapid prototyping of car body and large panel mold, some new rapid prototyping methods have also emerged in recent years, such as the mold-free multi-point forming and laser shock and electromagnetic forming which have begun to be applied in production. They all show the advantages of reducing cost and improving efficiency.
