The precision and surface condition of hot stamping parts are lower than that of cold stamping parts, but they are still better than castings and forgings, and the amount of further machining is small.

Stamping is an efficient production method, using compound die, especially multi-station progressive die, can complete multiple stamping operations on a single press (single-station or multi-station), realizing fully automatic production from coil unloading, leveling, blanking to forming finishing. High production efficiency, good labor conditions, low production cost, generally hundreds of pieces can be produced per minute. Compared with other methods of mechanical processing and plastic processing, stamping processing has many unique advantages in both technical and economic aspects, which are mainly manifested as follows:

 1. The production efficiency of stamping is high, and it is convenient to operate, easy to realize mechanization and automation. This is because stamping is completed by stamping dies and stamping equipment. The stroke number of a common press can reach dozens of times per minute, and the stroke number of a high-speed press can reach hundreds or even more than a thousand times per minute, and a stamping cycle can get a stamping part.

2. During stamping, the mold ensures the dimensional and shape accuracy of the stamped parts, and generally does not damage the surface quality of the parts, and the mold life is generally long, so the quality of stamping is stable, interchangeability is good, and it has the characteristics of "being exactly the same".

3. Sheet metal can process parts with a larger range of sizes and more complex shapes, such as the second hand of a watch to the longitudinal beam and the sun visor of a car, and the hardening effect of the cold deformation of the material during sheet metal working, the strength and rigidity of sheet metal are both high.
