The stamping forming process has many unique advantages compared to other processing methods, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
(1) Dimensional accuracy is ensured by the mold, so the quality of the parts processed is stable and consistent, and has the characteristics of "being exactly the same".
(2) Sheet bending can obtain parts with thin walls, low weight, good rigidity, high surface quality and complex shape which can not or can hardly be made by other processing methods;
(3) High material utilization rate, belonging to low or no chips machining;
(4) High efficiency, convenient operation, and not high technical requirements for workers;
(5) Long service life of the mold, low production cost.
However, the stamping forming process also has the following disadvantages:
(1) Noise and vibration are large;
(2) The mold accuracy requirements are high, the manufacturing is complex, the cycle is long, and the manufacturing cost is expensive, thus the small batch production is limited;
(3) If the precision requirements of parts are too high, it is difficult to carry out stamping production
